The first season of “Resistance” took place in the months before and, eventually, during the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The season’s climax came with the complete decimation of the Hosnian System – AKA the base of the New Republic – by the First Order’s planet-destroying Star Killer Base superweapon, as we saw in TFA. Season 2 will reportedly take place during and after the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, so we will presumably see some of what the Resistance has been up to after suffering devastating losses heading into the third and final installment of the film trilogy, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
