Super Bowl 2022 is mere days away, and with the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals going head to head, this matchup could lead to a real-life Cinderella story for the Bengals, who have never won a Super Bowl in the team’s history. While all of this is very exciting for people who know what football is, the rest of us have other things to enjoy on Super Bowl Sunday: the commercials! Here are a few to anticipate when waiting for the game to finally pause and for the real fun to begin!

1. Amazon’s The Mind Reader

Unlike its founder, Amazon’s commercials never disappoint! This year, the company will once again be promoting Alexa, the AI voice-activated software that can seemingly respond to your every need. This year’s commercial plays on this trope, with real-life married couple Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost imagining what it would be like if Alexa could read their minds. The result is a bit of a throwback to Scarlett’s work in A Marriage Story but definitely a hilarious watch!

2. Hellmann Tackles Food Waste

Former New Englands Patriot linebacker Jerod Mayo goes around tackling unsuspecting citizens for creating food waste. Can it get better than this? Yes, it can, because "SNL" comedian Pete Davidson also stars in the ad, noting to viewers that “he’s very hittable”. Is he calling out Kanye for his leaked diss track lyrics, or does Davidson’s face really inspire such rage? The world may never know.

3. Kia’s Robo Dog

It’s not a Super Bowl without a dog commercial. In this modern take, a robotic dog chases after a potential owner – who happens to own an electric Kia model. Through twists and turns, the dog eventually meets his new owner with a tear-jerking soundtrack behind him.

4. Bud Light Seltzer’s Hard Soda

With the help of Guy Fieri, Bud Light Selter is releasing their new hard soda brand with the promise of tasters being transported to Flavor Town. The advertising executives over at the beer brand sure know their audience, as Guy Fieri ruling a Loud Flavors fantasyland is the number on my bingo scorecard I never expected to land.

5. Lay’s Chips + Bromance

If you live for seeing Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen bro it out, you’re in luck. This Lay’s commercial takes us through Paul and Seth’s friendship, with each bite conjuring up a “golden memory” spanning heartbreaks, road trips, and danger.

6. A Throwback From General Motors

Reuniting the cast of the beloved Austin Powers series, Dr. Evil (Mike Myers) rebrands himself as Dr. EV-il, taking over General Motors to fight climate change so he can be the one to destroy the world. Other beloved Austin Powers characters like Number Two (Rob Lowe), Scott Evil (Seth Green), and Frau Farbissina (Mindy Sterling) help him hatch a plan to use General Motors’ Ultium Battery Platform technology to fight his new nemesis.
