5 Official Cookbooks Based On Movies & TV Coming Out This Fall!

Have you ever watched a movie and thought, "Wow, I would love to eat what they eat!"? Or perhaps you watched the movie and wondered, "What would they eat in that world"? Well, you are in luck, because this Fall, we are seeing a lot of fantastic fictional foodie cookbooks. Here are the ones we are most excited for! (All of these are available for pre-order on Amazon.)

1. Pixar: The Official Cookbook by Tara Theoharis & S. T. Bende

The world of Disney’s Pixar has been around for over 30 years now, and to celebrate, the official cookbook is going to be released on September 3rd, 2024. The book is a love letter to all the hard work put into our favorite films and animated shorts. Inside, you will find a recipe for everything they have ever released, in chronological order, from the ratatouille in Ratatouille to balloon cake pops from Up. The recipes are family-friendly, and with over 75 recipes, it is almost guaranteed. This is the cookbook to get for any Disney fan. 

 

 

2. The Wizard of Oz: The Official Cookbook by Elena P. Craig and Emma Carlson Berne

Somewhere over the rainbow, they make Rainbow Crepe Cakes and Wicked Black Bread. This is the perfect accompaniment to enjoy a rewatch of The Wizard of Oz or even the upcoming Wicked movie(s). The recipes are quite modern with a nod to the old classics. There are “Lions and Tigers and Bears Claws” and mocktails galore. It comes out August 13th, 2024, just in time to practice some recipes for Wicked coming out in November!

 

 

3. The Official Westeros Cookbook: Recipes from "Game of Thrones" and "House of the Dragon" by Cassandra Reeder & Joanne Bourne

Westeros is a vast continent with several cultures that are incredibly diverse. This cookbook showcases this by separating the different regions in the series. Dine like a queen on savory roasted duck and swallow down warming spiced wine. The variety of recipes is laid out in a fun and adventurous way. The cookbook is available for pre-order and will be released officially on October 8, 2024. (Note: There is also a A Feast of Ice & Fire cookbook by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Sariann Lehrer that came out in 2012 if you simply can't wait to get your hands on some of Sansa Stark's lemoncakes or Flea Bottom's special Bowl of Brown!)

 

 

4. The Rocky Horror Cookbook: 50 Savory, Sweet, and Seductive Recipes from the Cult Musical by Kim Laidlaw & Richard O'Brien

This cookbook release will have you shivering in antici…pation for this September 3rd, 2024 release. Co-authored by the creator of the Rocky Horror Show musical himself, Richard O'Brien, recipes like Slow-Cooked Thigh Rague that is almost guaranteed to be incredibly tender. For something sweeter, the rich chocolate in the Midnight Double Feature Brownies would hit that sweet spot. These recipes deserve a toast and will be the perfect accompaniment to a real Rocky Horror Picture Show.

 

 

5. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Official Cookbook by Jarrett Melendez

This cookbook will make you feel like a demigod. Each chapter follows the book’s progression creatively. For example, the chapter on bread is entitled "The Rise of a Hero". There is something for every Percy Jackson fan, whether you are a book fan or a movie fan. Start your morning with an adventurous Lavander Latte and end the day with Melopita (a Greek honeyed cheesecake). You could theme your whole day around "Percy Jackson" and never get tired of what you make!

 

 

 This Fall is chock-full of cookbook releases, just in time for the holiday season. These will make both foodies and movie buffs happy!
