Written by Pauline Woodley. Published: January 14 2020

Ringing in the new year means more than resolutions and trips to the gym, it’s also a time of anticipating what’s to come.

When talking television, of course. There are so many great shows nowadays, it’s hard to believe that more need to be added to your watchlist. The beginning of 2020 should mean planning out your binge activity, and you're gonna wanna keep these weeks open for these five most anticipated shows of 2020!

1. "Party of Five" (Freeform)

Working as a reboot of the 1994 Fox original series, which launched the careers of Matthew Fox, Neve Campbell, and more, "Party of Five" is Freeform’s latest family drama to add to their roster. In the remake, the Acosta family has replaced the Salinger family. Rather than a tragic car accident leaving their 5 children to fend for themselves, the Acosta parents are deported back to Mexico, leaving the oldest Acosta son to care for his 4 younger siblings. This fresh new take on the original storyline allows the remake to be more culturally and politically relevant than the original. The first episode premiered on January 8 on Freeform.

2. "High Fidelity" (Hulu)

In another fresh remake, Zoe Kravitz stars in Hulu’s "High Fidelity", based on the 1995 novel by Nick Hornby and serves as a remake to the 2000 film starring John Cusack and Jack Black. Zoe plays the main character, Rob, who owns a record store in Brooklyn. The 10-episode series will have Rob reminiscing on 5 past relationships through the music and pop culture that defined each past romance. This gender-switching, modern take on a classic will stream all 10 of its episodes starting on February 14 on Hulu.

3. "Hunters" (Amazon Prime)

"Hunters" takes place in 1977 New York City and follows a group of avengers of sorts, but rather than fighting purple space dictators, this rag-tag team of misfits hunts Nazis. The team, lead by none other than Al Pacino as Meyer Offerman, finds out that a number of high-ranking members of the Nazi party have been living in the United States. These Nazis are planning on reestablishing the Fourth Reich in the United States and our “hunters” must stop them. Starring heartthrob Logan Lerman, the series is set to premiere on February 21 on Amazon Prime.

4. "Little Fires Everywhere" (Hulu)

Based on the novel by Celeste Ng, "Little Fires Everywhere" stars Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington as two moms from very different families. The story follows these two families and how they interact in a small town struck by a national scandal -- A white couple from their Ohio suburb wants to adopt a Chinese-American baby whose biological immigrant mother wants custody back. The town, and these two families, must pick a side and choose wisely. The secret-filled limited series will be available to stream on March 18 on Hulu.

5. "Normal People" (Hulu)

Adapted from Sally Rooney’s best selling novel, "Normal People" is about the ever so complicated relationship that Marianne (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Connell (Paul Mescal) share. Taking place in Ireland, the story follows Marianne and Connell from the end of their high school days together to deep into adulthood. In high school, Marianne was the quiet girl, the one on the sidelines, while Connell was popular and well-liked. When they decide to go to the same college, the tables turn. Their evolving relationship and troubled past make for a beautifully told story that is sure to be incredible on screen. The series is expected to stream on Hulu sometime in 2020.
