4 Burning Questions We Have For 'The Kissing Booth 3'!
(WARNING: Spoilers for The Kissing Booth 2 ahead!)
Fans of The Kissing Booth films on Netflix, you will be glad to hear that a third installment is happening! The popular teen rom-com just released its second installment on July 24th, but the film ended with a major cliffhanger where main character Elle Evans (Joey King) got accepted into both UC Berkeley and Harvard!
It has been confirmed that the third movie has already been filmed and that it’s slated to release in 2021. Joey King and Joel Courtney, who play two of the main characters in the film series, reacted to the news on King’s Instagram:
We can only hope the third film is just as exciting as the first two! Let’s look at some of the biggest questions we have heading into The Kissing Booth 3:
1. Which school will Elle choose?
The movie did end on this note, so it’s fair that this is the biggest question heading into the third film. Choosing between UC Berkeley and Harvard is a tough decision as is, but the school Elle chooses will also determine whether she gets to attend school at Berkeley with close friend Lee (Joel Courtney) or Harvard with boyfriend Noah (Jacob Elordi)! This is such a tough decision, and the whole premise of the third movie is likely focused on Elle’s first year at one of these schools.
2. How will Elle’s decision affect her relationship with Lee and Noah?
Elle’s decision could affect her friendship with Lee or her relationship with Noah depending on which college she chooses. This is also because she will be across the country from whoever’s school she doesn’t choose. In turn, this could change her relationship with one of the Flynn brothers, as they will not be seeing much of each other in person. In addition, the decision could hurt one of them because Elle did not choose their school.
3. Will Noah and Elle’s relationship hit any more bumps?
In the second film, the emergence of the suave Marco (Taylor Zakhar Perez) led Elle to question her relationship with Noah, especially considering he was across the country at Harvard with sophisticated, beautiful girls like Chloe (Maisie Richardson-Sellers).
A kiss shared between Elle and Marco put her relationship with Noah at a strain, but the couple fortunately fixed their rough patch at the end of the second film. Now, the big question is whether their relationship will undergo smooth sailing in the third film. Elle’s decision about college could have repercussions on her and Noah’s relationship, especially if she chooses to stay in California.
4. How will Marco’s feelings for Elle be affected by college?
Though Elle decided she wanted to be with Noah over Marco, the new character was not fazed and even declared at the end of the second film that she was worth fighting for. Nevertheless, the fact that they all graduated high school means Marco’s chances of trying to get into a relationship with Elle could face obstacles, such as distance because they could be attending different colleges. This makes his pursuit and role in the third film more interesting.
Stay tuned for The Kissing Booth 3 and catch the first two films of the series on Netflix!
