The episode that started it all is where every new fan needs to start. The pilot opnes with the most mundane of topics: whether or not the placement of buttons on a button-down shirt is correct. Somehow, it is still hilarious. We then dive into whether or not Jerry has a chance with a woman visiting from Michigan who is visiting New York for a few days and will be staying in Jerry’s apartment. He contemplates the possibility of this woman being interested in him for the entire episode, only to learn that she is actually engaged in the end. The ability to make relatable situations such as this one so funny is what made the show so successful.
