Zayn Malik 'can't get head around' new album's success

Zayn Malik is excited by the positive reaction to his debut album titled Mind Of Mine.

The former One Direction member solidified his path to solo artistry with the release of his highly-anticipated album on Thursday (24Mar16), which predictably soared to number one on the iTunes album sales chart.

Mind Of Mine was released exactly one year after the British heartthrob left the boyband sensation, with his new album featuring a set of soulful jams intermixed with sexually suggestive songs.

In response to the successful launch, the Pillowtalk singer hit up Twitter telling his 18.4 million followers: "Can't get my head round it!!!"

Zayn also gave his album a big push when he made a return appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon late on Thursday night (24Mar16), performing the single Like I Would with the full complement of a backing band and support singers.

The singer continued to delight his loyal followers by releasing a music video for slow jam BeFoUr, which depicts the day in the life of the 23-year-old from Bradford, England, who is dating top model Gigi Hadid, 20.

The video, which included scenes of Zayn hanging out a bar and a party, also sent a message to his critics.

“If there’s something I want / I’ll take all the right wrongs,” he sung, continuing, “So say what you wanna say."

The album's first single Pillow Talk debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and on the Official U.K. Singles Chart.
