will.i.am helped Nicole Scherzinger land Pussycat Dolls gig
Nicole Scherzinger has rapper will.i.am to thank for launching her career by landing her a place in pop group Pussycat Dolls.
The hip-hop star reveals he originally wanted Scherzinger to join the Black Eyed Peas but she couldn't take the spot because she was already tied into another band, Eden's Crush, and Fergie was brought into the line-up instead.
However, will.i.am later found Scherzinger her breakthrough job by
introducing her to Interscope boss Jimmy Iovine.
In a Google fan chat, he explains, "One day, she calls me up and is
like, 'will, I want to do this audition. Can you get me in?'
"So I was like, 'Jimmy, I know this girl that will be dope (good)
for the Pussycat Dolls.' So I introduced him to her and that's how
she got into the group. It's like, me and Nicole, no matter what
I've been through in my career, she's been there."
Scherzinger adds, "Pretty much will and God have been the authors
of my life so far."
