White House rep dismisses reports Adele and Beyonce will sing for Michelle Obama's birthday

Adele and Beyonce will not be performing for First Lady Michelle Obama during her 50th birthday celebrations next year (14), according to a representative for the White House.

President Barack Obama's wife will reach the milestone on 17 January (14) and Britain's Mail on Sunday newspaper suggested the soul sensation and Crazy In Love hitmaker had both been invited to sing at a major party in Washington, D.C.

However, a spokesperson for the White House has moved swiftly to shoot down the rumours, telling NBC News, "This is 100 per cent false. It was fabricated by a British tabloid."
