Vin Diesel names newborn daughter after Paul Walker

Vin Diesel has honoured his late friend and co-star Paul Walker by naming his newborn daughter Pauline.

The Fast and Furious star welcomed his third child with his longtime girlfriend, model Paloma Jimenez, earlier this month (Mar15), and on Monday (23Mar15), Diesel revealed they called the baby girl Pauline as a lasting reminder of Walker, who died in a car crash in 2013.

He tells Today, "I named her Pauline... There's no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I just thought... I knew he was there and it felt like a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world."

The news comes a week after Diesel got choked up while honouring Walker during a Los Angeles screening of their upcoming film Furious 7, hours after he became a father again.

Diesel and Jimenez are also parents to daughter Hania Riley, six, and son Vincent Sinclair, four.
