Venetians welcome Mr & Mrs Clooney on Sunday

George Clooney and his new bride Amal Alamuddin stepped out as husband and wife for the first time the day after their nuptials on Saturday (27Sep14) and greeted the world's media en route to a post-ceremony party.

The newlyweds took a water taxi from outside the Aman Canal Grande hotel, where they wed on Saturday and then spent the night, to the Belmond Hotel Cipriani for brunch with their guests.

Stylish Alamuddin wore a Giambattista Valli Couture dress for the post-party get together, while Clooney opted for a gray suit.

Both were wearing their new wedding rings, as fans joined the media to clap and cheer as the new Mr and Mrs. Clooney made their way along Venice's busy waterways.

The trip caused chaos as other boaters tried to catch a glimpse of the couple - according to People.com, one skipper rammed his boat into a passing ferry.

The newlyweds are expected to continue their celebrations in Venice throughout the weekend and take part in a civil ceremony at the 16th Century Cavalli Palace on Monday (29Sep14).
