Usher suffers wardrobe malfunction at Clinton concert
R&B superstar Usher was left red-faced during a star-studded gala for former President Bill Clinton on Saturday night (15Oct11) when his trousers split midway through his energetic stage routine.
Lady Gaga, Kenny Chesney and U2's Bono and The Edge turned out in force to celebrate Clinton's belated 65th birthday and the 10th anniversary of his Clinton Foundation.
Usher was one of the performers at the A Decade of Difference event
at the Hollywood Bowl - but suffered an embarrassing wardrobe
malfunction when his pants tore on his left thigh as he belted out
his hits.
Ever the professional, Usher refused to let the incident interrupt
his three-song set and held on to his trouser leg during certain
parts of his dance as he completed his performance.
Comedienne Ellen DeGeneres poked fun at the incident later on in
the evening when she told the crowd as she walked on stage, "Sorry
I'm late, I had a rip in my pants and I had to fix it."
Ashton Kutcher was also on hand to pay tribute to Clinton for his
Foundation's work in alleviating poverty, improving global health
and protecting the environment, while Bono and The Edge sang Happy
Birthday to the former leader.
Gaga also marked Clinton's birthday by sending out a special
message to him as she performed a saucy routine for the crowd,
saying, "If someone had told me years ago that I'd be doing that in
front of you, I wouldn't have believed them. I would have given
them a good old American f**k you."
Clinton actually turned 65 on 19 August (11).
