Tyga's arrest warrant rescinded
An arrest warrant for rapper Tyga has reportedly been recalled after settling an unpaid rent dispute with his former landlord.
Los Angeles Police Department, L.A. County Sheriffs Department, and U.S. Customs officials were all notified of the hip-hop star's plans to return from Turks & Caicos, where he has been celebrating girlfriend Kylie Jenner's birthday, and they were determined to follow through on an arrest warrant issued after skipping a court hearing on Tuesday (09Aug16).
Tyga was called to court after allegedly failing to comply with a
March (16) judgment ordering him to pay his former landlord,
Gholamreza Rezai, over $480,000 in unpaid rent, damages,
compensation for alleged vandalism, and legal fees.
However, on Thursday (11Aug16), Tyga and his legal team settled the
matter "to the mutual satisfaction of all parties," and on Friday
(12Aug16), the warrant was rescinded, according to TMZ.com.
The landlord, Gholamreza Rezai, sued originally the star in 2012
after he allegedly broke the terms of a one-year lease on a
$16,000-a-month mansion in Malibu, California.
Court papers suggested Tyga left the property in need of repair
after installing a strippers' pole in the master bedroom, damaging
the property's hardwood floors, its intercom system, a gate opener,
and the glass-tiled shower.
The Rack City star was scheduled to be questioned under oath on
Tuesday about his financial affairs and assets after failing to pay
out the judgment from the lawsuit filed by Rezai.
The warrant drama emerged a few days after the rapper splashed out
$189,000 on a customised Mercedes Maybach for on/off girlfriend
Kylie Jenner ahead of her 19th birthday on 10 August.
Kylie posted a video on Snapchat showing off her new wheels as she
gushed over the lavish present. "Happy early birthday to me," she
said, adding, "Yay! I love you, T."
