Twilight author developing fantasy TV series
Twilight author Stephenie Meyer is developing a new fantasy TV series for Internet streaming service Hulu.
The best-selling writer has teamed up with studio bosses at Lionsgate to executive produce The Rook, based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Daniel O'Malley.
The thriller centres on a strong female protagonist with
extraordinary powers who is employed by a mysterious British
government agency to defend the country from supernatural
threats.
A sequel to The Rook, titled Stiletto, is slated for release next
year (16).
The project, which is also due to air on an unnamed British
broadcaster, will reunite Meyer with executives at Lionsgate, who
are responsible for distributing all five Twilight films. The
blockbuster franchise raked in more than $3.3 billion at the global
box office.
