The Weeknd launches own-brand marijuana vaporiser
R&B star The Weeknd has become the latest artist to lend his name to a new line of vaporisers.
Bosses at San Francisco, California-based manufacturers of tobacco and marijuana vaporisers PAX have signed on as an official co-sponsor of the singer's North American tour and now they are joining forces with him to launch The Madness Tour Limited Edition PAX 2 pen.
The vaporiser features The Weeknd's 'XO' logo on the body and turns
on to the tune of his hit The Hills. But the tour merchandise
doesn't come cheap - it will retail at $325 .
"Abel (The Weeknd's real name is Abel Tesfaye) is arguably the most
relevant musician today," says PAX Chief Marketing Officer Richard
Mumby. "He has a strong appreciation for design, so we thought it
was a great fit to extend his aesthetic perspective to the PAX
device. This is an exciting and unique way to showcase the PAX
brand in a new way."
The Weeknd follows in the footsteps of rappers Wiz Khalifa and
Snoop Dogg, both marijuana aficionados who have also embraced the
vaporiser culture.
Snoop first teamed up with Grenco Science officials in 2013 for his
own brand of G-Pen, while Wiz Khalifa unveiled his Taylor Gang
collection with the same company last year (14). Rappers E-40 and
The Game also boast their own vaporisers.
