The Walking Dead star Sonequa Martin-Green has been cast in the new Star Trek TV series Discovery.
The actress will portray a lieutenant commander on the USS Discovery in the new show, which is scheduled to launch next year (May17).
Martin-Green, who has also appeared on TV in The Good Wife and Once
Upon a Time, becomes the first African-American woman to lead a
Star Trek cast.
She joins Michelle Yeoh, Doug Jones, and Anthony Rapp among the
early castmates for the new Star Trek series.
