Taylor Swift has set two new world records after conquering the Billboard charts.

The Love Story hitmaker made history by becoming the first female artist to enjoy two million-selling weeks on the Billboard 200 album chart with her records Speak Now and Red.

She also set a new best for the fastest selling digital single after her hit We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together topped the iTunes singles rundown just 50 minutes after it was released.

Boyband One Direction set a record for the highest debut by a British group in the Billboard charts after Live While We're Young entered at number three, and Calvin Harris was confirmed as the new owner of the record for most top 10 hits from one album with nine, beating Michael Jackson's previous record of seven.

Other new Guinness World Records entries include Sir Richard Branson (oldest person to cross the English Channel by kiteboard), actress Betty White (longest TV career), and South Korean rap sensation PSY (most viewed video online in 24 hours).

Doctor Who was named as the longest running sci-fi show on TV.
