Taylor Swift pays surprise visit to Connecticut fan

Pop superstar Taylor Swift left a Connecticut woman speechless on Thursday (13Nov14) after turning up announced on the fan's doorstep.

Stephanie Barnett had previously expressed her gratitude to Swift via social media after revealing listening to her songs had helped her through a tough time as she struggled to conceive, and the Shake It Off hitmaker decided to make the New Haven resident's dreams come true by paying her a surprise visit years after initially connecting online.

Barnett, who is now a mother to two-year-old son Blake, reveals she was stunned when she found her pop idol at her front door, telling NBC News, "I opened the door and she said, 'Hey, Steph'. It was just her and she was right there, and I just lost it, I lost it for a while."

Swift spent time with the fan and even presented her with a slew of gifts, including a toddler sized-Mercedes for little Blake.

The pop star, who recently invited devotees to attend secret 1989 album listening parties at her homes in Los Angeles and New York, and her hotel in London, has also been sending her biggest supporters early Christmas gift baskets containing little souvenirs from her travels around the world.
