Taylor Swift offered appearance on Law & Order: SVU

Pop superstar Taylor Swift has been offered the opportunity to make a guest appearance alongside her TV idol Mariska Hargitay in her favorite crime drama series, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

The Shake It Off hitmaker is a huge fan of the longrunning show and even named one of her pet cats after the veteran actress' Law & Order character, Olivia Benson.

Swift finally met and befriended Hargitay last year (14) and invited the 51 year old to join the star-studded cast of her Bad Blood video, and now Hargitay is seeking to return the favor by finding a part for the singer onscreen.

She tells news show Entertainment Tonight, "We talked about it. We're going to wait until the end of (Swift's current) tour to see how it goes. But it's in the air."

The cameo will likely have to wait until next year (16) as Swift will be on the road for her ongoing 1989 world tour until 12 December (15), when she wraps up the gigs in Melbourne, Australia.

The 25-year-old singer has previously flexed her acting chops in Jeff Bridges film The Giver and 2010 romantic comedy Valentine's Day, while she had small roles on TV series New Girl in 2013 and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in 2009.
