Taylor Swift deemed 'fantastic role model' by Scott Eastwood
Scott Eastwood has described Taylor Swift as a “fantastic role model” to young girls.
The Hollywood actor, and son of screen veteran Clint, starred in the singer’s music video for Wildest Dreams in 2015, which caused controversy when people branded it racist for its use of all white people in a ‘50s African setting. Taylor, 26, courted more drama recently when Kanye West’s wife Kim Kardashian leaked a phone call of the popstar seemingly agreeing to a reference aimed at her in the rapper’s track Famous, despite Taylor insisting she hadn’t spoken with him.
Amid all the rumors and accusations, Scott, 30, has spoken out
about what a joy it was to work with the singer and admits he looks
up to her way of reaching out to fans via social media.
“You look at great people like Taylor Swift, who is a fantastic
role model to young women, and if I can sort of follow that path,
that’s a nice thing to do,” he told HuffPost Live, adding he has
her music on his iPod along with other artists like Rihanna and
rock band Eagles.
This isn’t the first time heartthrob Scott, 30, has gushed about
Taylor as he told Rolling Stone magazine last November (15) that he
aspires to be like her. He even revealed his agents advised him
against agreeing to feature in her video, but he went against their
wishes to be her “toy boy” – despite being four years her
senior.
Scott’s comments come off the back of singer-and-actor Jared Leto
weighing in on the Taylor and Kanye feud, however he kept his
opinions neutral and spoke highly of them both. Leto dubbed Kanye
the “nicest person”, calling him a talented and generous person and
although he was recorded saying he “doesn’t give a f**k” about
Taylor in 2015, Leto retracted his comments shortly afterward and
recently told America’s GQ: “She’s great. She triggers a
conversation with myself about what’s possible."
