Taylor Swift celebrates album chart feat with goofy old photo
Taylor Swift celebrated her 1.2 million-plus sales week on the album chart by reminding fans what she looked like the last time an artist topped the Billboard 200 with a better number one debut.
Eminem was the last act to debut with more opening week sales - in 2002.
Posting a photo of a pre-fame Taylor on her Instagram.com page,
Swift joked, "The last time an album sold as many copies as 1989
did first week, it was 2002, I was 12, and going through my 'braids
phase'."
Meanwhile, her amazing week just got better - she has scored a
chart double.
Just hours after her new album 1989 debuted at number one, her hit
Shake It Off has returned to the top of the pop charts after
spending eight weeks at number two.
Swift ends Meghan Trainor's eight week reign at the top of the
Billboard Hot 100 - All About That Bass falls to two on the new
countdown.
Tove Lo's Habits (Stay High) rounds out the top three, which has
been all-female for the past nine weeks.
