Taylor Swift and Rachel McAdams join reading campaign
Country star Taylor Swift and actress Rachel Mcadams are teaming up with officials from the American Library Association to promote the importance of reading.
The pair will share its love of reading in new advertisements for the READ campaign, which will feature the actress and the singer posing with one of their favorite books.
Swift's commercial, which debuted on People.com on Friday
(06Jun14), features her holding a copy of Lois Lowry's young adult
novel The Giver - an appropriate choice since she stars in the
forthcoming film adaptation, alongside Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges
and Katie Holmes.
Swift and McAdams are the latest in a long line of celebrities to
join the READ campaign - other participants include Daniel
Radcliffe, Henry Cavill, Orlando Bloom, Eva Mendes, Hugh Jackman
and Oprah Winfrey.
The ALA cause is a good fit for the Love Story hitmaker - she
helped to support her hometown library in the aptly named Reading,
Pennsylvania by donating books.
