Suge Knight hospitalized after court hearing
Rap mogul Marion 'Suge' Knight was hospitalized on Thursday (16Apr15), shortly after he was ordered to stand trial for murder in his hit-and-run case.
The former Death Row Records boss has been charged with murder and attempted murder following the death of his friend Terry Carter, who was allegedly struck by Knight's vehicle in Compton, California in January (15) following a confrontation on a film set.
On Thursday, Judge Ronald Coen ruled Knight, 49, will stand trial
on the charges, while drastically reducing his bail from $25
million (GBP16.6 million) to $10 million (GBP6.6 million).
Judge Coen also dropped one of the hit-and-run counts against the
embattled hip-hop star, who also hit and injured actor Cle Sloan as
he made his getaway from the parking lot altercation.
After the latest hearing, Los Angeles sheriff’s spokeswoman Nicole
Nishida reveals Knight was taken to a nearby hospital after
experiencing a medical emergency, but she did not add further
details. His condition remains unknown.
This marks the fifth time that Knight, who has been struggling with
his health since he was shot multiple times at a club last summer
(14), has been taken to a medical center from court since he was
charged in the hit-and-run case.
