Pop star Demi Lovato, Guns N' Roses rocker Axl Rose and rapper will.i.am have added their tributes to the victims of the horrific Brazil nightclub fire, which claimed more than 230 lives in the early hours of Sunday (27Jan13).

The South American country has been plunged into mourning after a blaze broke out at the packed Kiss club in Santa Maria, leading to a stampede as panicked revellers tried to escape.

Lady Gaga and Black Eyed Peas' Taboo were among the first to offer condolences, and now several more stars have taken to Twitter.com to comment on the tragedy and pay their respects.

Lovato writes, "So sad to hear about the nightclub fire in Brazil. Such a tragedy. Praying for everyone affected down there," while Rose adds, "Terribly sorry for the families and friends who lost their loved ones at the club fire in Brazil and praying for those who are hurt."

Latin icon Gloria Estefan offers, "So sad! Praying for Brazil and all the loved ones of the ones who lost their lives," while Grace Kelly hitmaker Mika tweets, "Reading about the disastrous fire in Brazil. I imagine with horror at what it must have been like for those poor people trapped inside."

will.i.am adds, "I am so sad to hear the sad news about my lovely brazil... Pray for Santa Maria and the families who lost loved ones in this tragedy."

Magic Mike star Olivia Munn told her followers, "My thoughts & prayers are with the friends & loved ones of the people killed in the club fire in Brazil," while fellow Hollywood actress Kirstie Alley declares, "My heart goes out to the loved ones of the people who lost their lives in Brazil... RIP."

Rocker/actor Jared Leto shares, "Our hearts and thoughts go out to our family in Brazil. What a terrible tragedy. We love you."

It is believed flares used onstage by local band Gurizada Fandangueira ignited the flames.
