Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello begin wedding weekend celebrations

Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello have kicked off their wedding weekend celebrations in Florida, ahead of their big day on Sunday (22Nov15).

The Modern Family star is marrying her Magic Mike fiance at The Breakers Palm Beach resort after a whirlwind romance, and the actress could not contain her excitement as the wedding approaches.

She posted a photograph of the couple surrounded by red and white roses on Instagram.com on Friday (20Nov15), writing, "We r (sic) almost ready!"

Wedding guests were treated to a private beach bash at the Florida resort on Thursday (19Nov15), and celebrations are expected to continue on Saturday (21Nov15) with a cocktail party.

Sofia's Modern Family co-stars Ariel Winter and Jesse Tyler Ferguson have already been spotted arriving at the resort, and her son Manolo has been posting pictures of the build-up to the big day on Instagram.

Editors at Hello! magazine report the pair has asked their 400 guests to donate to charities - including St. Jude's Children's Hospital - instead of buying gifts. Sofia is a celebrity ambassador for the charity, which aims to treat and defeat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Sofia and Joe met in July, 2014, and they became engaged just six months later during a trip to Hawaii. It is the Colombian star's second trip down the aisle - her first marriage to Joe Gonzalez, father of her son Manolo, crumbled after just two years in 1993.
