Singer Tweet returning to the music scene after a decade

Singer Tweet is ready to return to music after years of battling depression.

The Oops (Oh My) star, who worked with Missy Elliot and Timbaland, released her first album, Southern Hummingbird, in 2002 and followed it with 2005's It's Me Again, but the 45-year-old struggled with various personal issues, including financial problems, bad relationships and a dispute with her record label, and they combined to send her spiraling downwards.

"I didn’t want to sing anymore," she tells Essence.com.

But, after hearing gospel star Tonex’s song Make Me Over, she knew it was time for her to plot a comeback.

“The song just quenched my spirit,” she continues.

Tweet will release Charlene, her first album in over a decade next month (Feb16).

“I just want to put the album out and let God orchestrate it," she adds. "I’ll be fine.”
