Zendaya is new Covergirl
Actress/singer Zendaya has been named the new face of CoverGirl cosmetics.
The K.C. Undercover star follows in the footsteps of Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Katy Perry, among others, as the beauty brand's new spokeswoman.
"Covergirl celebrates powerful, beautiful, and strong women of
different races and ethnicities," she tells Teen Vogue. "It's
inspiring. I'm thrilled to be part of the diversity and expansion
of beauty."
The 19-year-old is known for her style, but she credits her beauty
team with teaching her tricks about wearing makeup.
"I've learned so much over the years, especially how to get the
perfect color," she adds. "There's no such thing as a single color
foundation. Sometimes I use at least five or six, even up to 10.
Everyone has different tones."
The Disney star's new role comes almost a year after comments made
about the teenager's Oscars red carpet look sparked a storm of
controversy in America.
Fashion Police co-host Giuliana Rancic came under fire after she
suggested Coleman's dreadlocked appearance made her look like she
"smelled of weed".
Rancic apologized but the drama prompted her Fashion Police co-host
Kelly Osbourne to quit the show.
Bosses at the E! Network then put the program on hiatus days after
comedienne Kathy Griffin followed Osbourne out the door. The show
has since returned with original host Joan Rivers' daughter Melissa
joining Rancic on set.
