Shakira unearths email evidence in lawsuit with ex-boyfriend

Shakira has unearthed old emails exchanged with her ex-boyfriend Antonio De La Rua to prove he has no rights to her multi-million dollar fortune.

The Colombian superstar is facing legal action from Antonio de la Rua, the son of former Argentine president Fernando de la Rua, amid allegations he is entitled to a share of her massive bank balance for reportedly acting as her manager and helping to negotiate lucrative contracts during their 10 years together.

Shakira has denied the claims and has asked a judge to dismiss the case, maintaining her former partner did advise her on some decisions but was never officially employed as her manager. She also insisted she was already famous when they met in 2000 and that the only agreement she signed with Antonio de la Rua was a 2006 document stating they would both keep their own assets if they split.

Now the Hips Don't Lie hitmaker has found old emails sent to her in 2011 by her ex, who clearly states, "I am not a partner in any of your companies. You are the sole owner of all of them."

Shakira's mother is also said to have received a similar email, months after their 2010 break-up.

The singer has also produced a copy of the 2006 relationship document she signed with Antonio de la Rua, which outlined their agreement to create a joint bank account holding $10,000, which they would divide equally in the event of a split. The contract, the equivalent of a pre-nuptial agreement, also declared that they would both "renounce" any rights to future earnings by either party, reports TMZ.com.

Shakira has since moved on with Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique, the father of her baby son Milan.
