Selena's sister assures fans singing hologram will not be creepy

The sister of slain Tejano singer Selena has reassured fans they won't be freaked out by a new project featuring the hologram of her late sibling because the technology is amazing.

Suzette Quintanilla has given her blessing to plans for a new live show that will debut in 2018 and feature the image of her sister, who was killed 20 years ago, and she's convinced fans will love the tasteful technology.

She tells Billboard.com, "By no means is this something that's creepy or weird. A lot of the new fans that did not get to experience what Selena was about hopefully will be able to get a sense of her with this new technology that's going to be coming out."

Suzette reveals she and her family members were approached last year (14) by bosses at Acrovirt, a company that specialises in a technology called Digitized Human Essence, and they signed on immediately.

Selena's sister adds, "It's not about replacing Selena in any shape, way or form. It's just something to help her legacy continue growing."

An IndieGoGo campaign will be launched on Selena's birthday (16Apr15) to help fund the Selena The One hologram project, created using family photos and videos.

Selena was murdered in 1995 by the president of her fan club.
