Selena Gomez lands first number one album

Selena Gomez has scored her first number one album in America.

The actress/singer's Stars Dance has debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 countdown, ending Jay-Z's two week reign at number one with Magna Carta... Holy Grail.



It's a great birthday gift for Gomez, who turned 21 last week (ends26Jul13).


Jay-Z's hit album drops to two on the new chart and the soundtrack to Disney's Teen Beach Movie rises to three.


The Kidz Bop 24 album and Marc Anthony's new Spanish-language album 3.0 round out the new top five.


Meanwhile, on the Hot 100 singles chart, Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines holds off a surging One Direction to land an eighth week at number one.


One Direction's Best Song Ever debuts at two and becomes the boy band's highest-charting hit in the U.S.


Miley Cyrus' We Can't Stop drops a spot to three, while Imagine Dragons' Radioactive and Get Lucky by Daft Punk round out the new top five.
