A screening of rapper Kanye West's New Slaves music video was shut down by police in Houston, Texas on Friday (24May13).

The Stronger hitmaker planned to project clips of the promo on public buildings across the world to celebrate the release of his upcoming album Yeezus, but cops broke up the crowd at the Rothko Chapel and ordered fans to disperse or be arrested for trespassing.

According to local publication the Houston Chronicle, two other displays in the city were marred by problems as well - a showing at the Central Library was shut down due to "technical difficulties", while a planned screening at the George Bush Monument reportedly never happened.

Witness Janet Quiroa said, "All we saw were the sprinklers come on and obnoxious people screaming Kanye threats."
