Sarah Jessica Parker hosts star-studded ballet gala

Sarah Jessica Parker combined the worlds of fashion and dance at a star-studded ballet fundraiser in New York City this week (ends22Sep13), attracting big names including Natalie Portman and Drew Barrymore.

The Sex and the City star helped put together the glamorous New York City Ballet Fall Gala, which featured three performances with dancers wearing designs from different fashion brands.

The event, held at Manhattan's Lincoln Center on Thursday (19Sep13), was attended by Black Swan star Portman, who turned out to support her husband Benjamin Millepied, who choreographed one of the gala's dance pieces, as well as Drew Barrymore, Amber Valletta, model Doutzen Kroes, Martha Stewart and rapper 50 Cent.

The gala raised more than $2 million for the New York City Ballet and Parker said of the event, "It worked out better than I ever could have dreamed."
