Sarah Jessica Parker gave photographers an eyeful as she flashed her underwear at the Costume Institute Gala in New York City on Monday (06May13).

The Sex and the City star turned heads with the bizarre Mohawk-shaped headpiece she wore to the high-profile fashion event, otherwise known as the Met Ball, which had a punk theme this year (13) to tie in with the new Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum Of Arts.

And Sarah Jessica Parker lived up to the rebellious spirit of the night - the mother-of-three was photographed exposing her lacy underwear as she pulled up her Giles Deacon ballgown to reveal her thigh-high Louis Vuitton plaid boots.

Madonna also flashed the flesh on the red carpet - she opted to wear racy hold-up stockings and no trousers under a studded jacket, while Miley Cyrus stepped out in a fishnet dress with her hair shaped in spikes.

Beyonce, who was an honorary chair of the benefit, Taylor Swift, Kristen Stewart, Lily Collins, Kerry Washington, Christina Ricci, Claire Danes, Heidi Klum, Gwen Stefani and Kylie Minogue were also among the famous faces who channelled their inner rock stars in their best punk-inspired outfits.
