Sandra Bullock lands film festival honor for Gravity role
Sandra Bullock is to be honored for her role in Gravity at the 25th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) in California.
The star will receive the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress, at the event on 4 January (14) at the Palm Springs Convention Center for her role in the new sci-fi thriller which also stars George Clooney.
PSIFF festival chairman Harold Matzner, says, "Sandra Bullock is
the epitome of cinematic talent and versatility. In her latest and
arguably most demanding role as first-time astronaut Dr. Ryan Stone
in Gravity, Bullock faces the primal nightmare of being stranded in
space with no apparent way of returning.
"Throughout the entire film, her determination to survive is
masterfully portrayed. To this consummate performer who continues
to captivate audiences with her artistry, it is our honor to
present the 2014 Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress to Sandra
Bullock."
Bullock will be joined by her A Time to Kill co-star Matthew
McConaughey, who will be receiving the Desert Palm Achievement
Award, Actor for his drama Dallas Buyers Club.
