Sandra Bullock chose to accept her role in new movie Our Brand Is Crisis because it was good for her five-year-old son Louis.

The actress was at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday (11Sep15) for the premiere of the new political drama, which also stars Billy Bob Thornton and Anthony Mackie.

She told People.com her role as Jane Bodine, a political mastermind who is called upon to help a Bolivian presidential candidate to win his campaign, came out of the blue but fitted with her plans as a mother.

She says, "I wasn't looking for this, I was having fun just being a mom... It had to be something extraordinary that would be a life experience for myself and my boy because he comes with me.

"I look at things now, I'm going, 'What am I leaving behind for my son? What things do I want to say that I want to parlay to him in what I feel about the world, how I want the world to be and the people I admire?'"

Our Brand Is Crisis is due to be released on 30 October (15).
