Ryan Reynolds: 'Seeing my daughter care for her newborn sister is profound'
Ryan Reynolds finds it profound watching his nearly two-year-old daughter take care of her newborn sister.
The 40-year-old actor welcomed his second child with wife Blake Lively in September (16). While the pair has yet to confirm the name they have settled on for the little one, Ryan opened up his new life as a father of two girls in a new interview with Canadian TV show etalk this week.
While having another child is a beautiful experience in itself,
Ryan explained that the most exciting part of the process was
actually watching his daughter James, who turns two later this
month (Dec16), adapt to being a big sister.
"It was kind of profound,” he said. “I just love watching my older
daughter take care of the newborn. That’s been kind of neat to
see."
Ryan is himself adapting to life as a father of two, with girls
meaning he is outnumbered in his household. Adding that the
"dynamic" of the household hasn't changed following the new
arrival, he said: "There’s just more. There’s more love, there’s
more diapers. There’s more all that stuff, you know."
Fans of the couple are desperate to know what moniker they have
chosen for the tot. Following James' birth in 2014 they waited
until the following March (15) to reveal her name.
And while Ryan refused to be drawn on his new daughter's name, he
did tell etalk that the couple have "settled on the right one.”
Clearly revelling in being a father of two, Ryan smiled from ear to
ear as he discussed his expanding family. The Deadpool star looked
sharp in a purple shirt and berry-colored sweater vest as he
chatted to the interviewer, telling him that being a dad is "the
best thing".
“It’s the best thing that could ever happen to you," he smiled.
