Russell Brand and Katy Perry support Wall Street demo
Russell Brand has shown his support for anti-capitalist campaigners in New York by joining the demonstration in Wall Street.
Thousands of protesters are camping out at Zuccotti Park in Manhattan's famous financial district to call for an end to corporate greed, and several stars including Alec Baldwin, Susan Sarandon, and hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons have visited them.
Now Brand and his pop star wife Katy Perry have sided with the
Occupy Wall Street rally, with the British funnyman joining
protesters on Wednesday (19Oct11) to show the couple's support.
In a post on Twitter.com, Perry - who is currently on tour in the
U.K. - links to online coverage of the protest and writes, "This is
happening... I know my hubby rustyrockets is there now... still...
reppin (representing) us both! Tell him to call his wife if you see
him!"
