Ruby Rose: 'I won't be joking about playing a Bond girl again'
Ruby Rose has vowed to stop making jokes about becoming a Bond girl after one recent tweet sent fans into a frenzy.
The actress and DJ joked about her look in a caption attached to a vacation snap of herself in a bikini she posted on Instagram on Monday (01Aug16), and fans took her seriously.
Ruby wrote: "I'd like to be the next Bond girl please, I've been
practicing all week haha."
But it appears her joke sparked new 007 rumors online and the
30-year-old Orange Is the New Black actress has since returned to
social media to explain she wasn't being serious.
"This was a joke if the whole 'practicing all week' wasn’t a give
away (sic)," she wrote. "I just thought it was funny how serious I
looked... Also that's not how landing roles in movies work
haha."
And on Wednesday (03Aug16), she added on Twitter, "I make one Bond
girl Instagram caption in jest at a 'looking very serious in a
swimsuit' photo and am reminded why joking online = fail."
Rose is currently on holiday with her girlfriend Harley Gusman in
Ibiza.
Bond bosses may have to decide on their next 007 before recruiting
Bond girls after Daniel Craig made it clear last year (15) he was
done as the superspy.
Idris Elba, Damien Lewis, James Norton and Aiden Turner's names
have been linked to the role in recent months, but it appears
Taylor Swift's new boyfriend Tom Hiddleston is still the favorite
to play the next 007.
Meanwhile, recent Bond girls have included Italian star Monica
Bellucci, Eva Green, Gemma Arterton, Olga Kurylenko, Berenice
Marlohe, and Lea Seydoux.
