Robin Thicke's Paula album flops in U.K.

Written by . Published: July 09 2014

R&B singer Robin Thicke's new album Paula has bombed in the U.K., reportedly selling just 530 copies in its opening week to scrap into the charts at number 200.

The Lost Without U hitmaker dedicated the album of love songs to his estranged wife, actress Paula Patton, but his romantic gesture failed to strike a chord with British fans, according to TheGuardian.com.

The disappointing first-week sales figure is just two per cent of the 25,981 copies he managed to sell of his last album, 2013's Blurred Lines, to debut at number one.

Thicke will learn of Paula's fate in the U.S. Billboard chart when sales data is released on Wednesday (09Jul14).

Thicke and Patton announced their separation in February (14) after almost nine years of marriage.
