Andrew Dost composes song for dog TV network
Rocker Andrew Dost has composed new music for network DogTV to help soothe anxious canines.
The fun. star was asked by DogTV bosses to create a track for their channel, which aims to reduce the stress pets may experience when they are left at home alone by their owners.
Dost explains his new project in a statement which reads, "I
approached this composition project differently than I would for
human ears. I made sure the range of frequencies and
instrumentation were tailored to a dog's unique sense of hearing
and kept things musically more level and linear."
The four-minute song features harp, piano and repetitive electronic
undertones, and is set to a video which includes tranquil scenes of
Yosemite National Park in California.
Dost's fee from the project will go to A Rejoyceful Animal Rescue,
a shelter in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan.
