Robert Downey, Jr. and Bruce Lee inducted into California Hall of Fame
Robert Downey, Jr. and martial arts movie legend Bruce Lee were inducted into the California Hall of Fame on Wednesday (28Oct15).
The Iron Mar star and late actor Lee were honored for helping raise the profile of the state alongside late Peanuts cartoonist Charles M. Schultz, late singer Buck Owens and British artist/photographer David Hockney.
The honorees in attendance were presented with the Spirit of
California medal by Governor Jerry Brown at the California Museum
in Sacramento, and their accomplishments were made permanent record
in the California State Archives.
Memorabilia "highlighting the lives and legacies of inductees" also
went on display at the museum on Thursday (29Oct15).
Downey, Jr. shared a picture of himself accepting the award on
Instagram.com and added in a caption: "Had the honor of being one
of a number inducted into the CA Hall of Fame yesterday by Gov
Brown. Thrilled to be in any group that includes Bruce Lee and
Peanuts creator Charles M Shulz (sic)."
Previous inductees include Barbra Streisand, James Cameron and
George Lucas.
