Rihanna to debut new Puma line at New York Fashion Week
Pop superstar Rihanna is set to debut her first sneaker collection with Puma at New York Fashion Week in February (16).
The Diamonds singer was appointed creative director of the sports apparel giant last year (14), and she has been working with brand designers to come up with a series of new shoe styles.
It has now been revealed she will unveil the finished products at a
Puma By Rihanna runway show in the Big Apple on 12 February (16),
according to Vogue U.K.
Rihanna quietly let the news slip on Tuesday (08Dec15) as she
shared auction details for her second annual Diamond Ball charity
event via Twitter.
The Paddle8.com auction items include a pair of flights to the Big
Apple and front row tickets to the New York Fashion Week
Autumn/Winter 2016 event for a starting bid of $15,000 .
"This exclusive opportunity includes a pre-show styling package,
backstage access following the runway show, as well as invitation
to the after-party, plus an exceptional suite of gifts, selected
for the sartorial collector, including one piece of each style in
the entire AW16 PUMA by Rihanna collection, an autographed one of a
kind Puma by Rihanna BTS (behind the scenes) framed art piece, and
a pair of signed Creepers in each color from the AW15 collection,"
according to the lot description.
Bidding ends on Thursday afternoon (10Dec15), hours before Rihanna
attends her black-tie fundraiser in Santa Monica, California to
help raise funds for her Clara Lionel Foundation, which helps
communities around the world improve their "quality of life,
health, education, arts and culture".
Included among the other items up for grabs is the singer's own
sparkling 2014 Christmas tree, created by artist Jorge Morfin. The
autographed tree, worth an estimated $15,000 , consists of five
separate units covered in black ice crystal mesh fabric with over
20,000 faux black ice crystals, and has a starting bid of $6,000
.
Comedian Kevin Hart is set to host this year's (15) Diamond Ball,
with Lionel Richie slated to perform.
