Rockers Radiohead cancelled their show in Toronto, Canada on Saturday night (16Jun12) after their stage collapsed and killed a crew member.

The Paranoid Android hitmakers were set to perform at Downsview Park, but the stage structure came crashing down at around 4pm local time, pinning a man under the scaffolding. He died of a "crushing injury", according to a Toronto Fire Services official.

Another worker was seriously injured and taken to the city's Sunnybrook Hospital, while two others suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

Toronto police Constable Tony Vella says, "There were a number of people on the stage setting up for the concert when the top portion collapsed on top of them.

"The remainder of the people, when they heard the stage coming (down), ran from the area."

Hundreds of audience members were already at the venue waiting to be let into the arena, but fans were told not to make their way to the venue after the accident.

A post on Radiohead's Facebook.com page reads, "Due to unforeseen circumstances the radiohead show at downsview park tonight has been cancelled.

"Fans are advised not to make their way to the venue. Refunds will be made at point of purchase."
