Psy had no idea who Chris Martin was

Chris Martin was left star-struck at the glitzy Costume Institute Gala in New York this week (06May13) after asking a clueless Psy if he would pose for a picture.

The Coldplay frontman spotted the South Korean rap phenomenon across the room at the event, aka the Met Ball, on Monday (06May13) and plucked up the courage to approach him.

The Gangnam Style hitmaker happily posed for a picture with the famous Brit - but had no clue who he was.

Martin's actress wife Gwyneth Paltrow, who also posed for a snap with Psy, explains, "Chris saw him and said, 'Hello, I'm from the band Coldplay', and Psy didn't seem to know.

"We said, 'We're so sorry to bother you but can we get a picture together for our children?' He then put it all together and was really happy to meet Chris."

The meeting was a rare fun moment at the Met Ball for Paltrow - she vowed to never attend the huge fashion event again after complaining that this year's (13) bash was "too crowded and un-fun".
