Prince Harry would help carry Jimmy Choo's samples for Princess Diana
British royal Prince Harry used to help Jimmy Choo carry his samples when the footwear designer visited Princess Diana.
The late royal was lauded for her bold and fashion forward wardrobe choices. And it Diana’s youngest son Harry, now 31, was always on hand to help.
Jimmy’s niece who launched her namesake shoe line four years ago,
recalls how her Malaysian-born uncle, who was named Diana's
official shoemaker in the '90s, shared news of his encounter with
the young royal.
“I would come down from university and help my uncle with the
shows, so I got to meet people like Kylie Minogue, who loved his
shoes, and Naomi Campbell, who was doing the catwalk,” she smiled
to Britain’s Hello! magazine. “He worked with designers like Jasper
Conran, Tomasz Starzewski and Catherine Walker, the huge names of
the day – it was terribly glamorous and exciting.
“Of course, my uncle would visit Princess Diana at Kensington
Palace, where, apparently, Prince Harry world help carry his heavy
suitcase full of samples to the car.”
