Pink & Enrique Iglesias join celebrities horrified by terrorist attack in Turkey
Pink and Enrique Iglesias are among the stars who took to Twitter on Tuesday (28Jun16) to share their shock and horror about a terrorist attack in Istanbul, Turkey.
At least 36 people were killed and 147 more injured when three suicide bombers blew themselves up at Ataturk Airport.
As authorities are trying to figure out who is responsible for the
attacks, celebrities have hit social media to offer their
condolences to the people affected and their prayers for the people
of Turkey.
Pink tweeted: "Sending heartfelt condolences and many prayers for
those affected in Turkey," while Enrique added, "My heart is with
you #Istanbul."
Political rivals Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump also offered up
their thoughts on Twitter, with Trump stating: "Yet another
terrorist attack, this time in Turkey. Will the world ever realize
what is going on? So sad."
Elijah Wood, Christina Perri, and LeAnn Rimes also offered their
thoughts, while actress Camilla Belle wrote: "What a horrifying
attack in #istanbul. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims
and their families." And Tegan & Sara tweeted: "We've never been to
Istanbul but hear it's a wonderful city. Our hearts are heavy for
Turkey and those affected by the bombing today."
Meanwhile, Cher added, "WE ALL PRAY FOR INNOCENT PPL (people) IN
TURKEY AIRPORT," and Boy George offered: "Very sad to hear about
the explosions and gunfire at Istanbul airport."
Following the latest terrorist atrocity, Turkey's President Recep
Tayyip Erdogan called for an international fight against terrorism,
saying: "Make no mistake, for terrorist organisations, there is no
difference between Istanbul and London, Ankara and Berlin, Izmir
and Chicago or Antalya and Rome. Unless all government (sic) and
the entire mankind join forces in the fight against terrorism, much
worse things than what we fear to imagine today will come
true."
Turkey's Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag has since revealed one of
the terrorists opened fire with a Kalashnikov rifle before
detonating a bomb strapped to his body.
