PETA want to help Dax Shepard regain veggie diet after chicken confession
Dax Shepard has been offered help by officials from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to get his meat-free diet back on track after the actor confessed he was not worthy of the organisation's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity title - because he has been eating chicken.
The When in Rome star was named the winner in the male category of the hottest vegetarian celebrities on Thursday morning (27Jun13), with his fiancee Kristen Bell taking the female crown.
However, Shepard was forced to decline the honour after taking to
his Twitter.com blog to confess that he hasn't been sticking to a
completely green diet.
He wrote, "I'm really flattered to be named 'Sexiest Vegetarian'
with (Bell), but sadly I can't accept in good conscience because I
eat chicken.
"I was vegan for a year, but that ended 6 months ago. I aspire to
be more like (Bell), but I'm not there yet."
PETA bosses have since revised their winner's list, placing the
Veronica Mars beauty solely at the top of their Sexiest Vegetarian
Celebrity poll - but they are more than willing to help Shepard get
back into their good books by sending him fake meat products to
try.
A statement released to WENN reads: "We're delighted to recognise
Kristen Bell as our Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity. She sets a
wonderful example of kindness to animals and healthy living to her
countless fans, including Dax!
"We love Dax, and we're glad to read that he's aspiring to be more
like Kristen. We are here to help with recipes and our vegetarian
starter kit, and we'll be sending the couple a delicious gift
basket of Beyond Meat and Gardein veggie chicken products."
