One Direction star Zayn Malik was subjected to an embarrassing prank by his girlfriend Perrie Edwards, who gave the singer a manicure while he slept.

The exhausted heartthrob took time out from his busy schedule to grab a quick nap but the Little Mix singer took the opportunity to treat her boyfriend to the colourful makeover.

A delighted Perrie immediately took to her Twitter.com page to share a snap of Malik asleep on a sofa with a fedora hat pulled over his eyes while she holds up his multi-colored nails to the camera, writing, "The perks of your boyfriend not waking up through anything. Pretty... nails Zayn."
