Paula Abdul sues tanning salon bosses over burned leg
Singer-turned-reality TV regular Paula Abdul has filed a personal injury lawsuit against tanning company bosses after she allegedly burned her leg during a treatment.
The Opposites Attract hitmaker has taken legal action against the executives behind Los Angeles-based company UVASUN West, Inc., claiming she suffered severe burns following a tanning treatment in 2012.
In the documents obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Abdul states
she purchased an infrared body wrap treatment, which was applied
"negligently, carelessly and recklessly" and consequently led her
to incur "severe and painful burns all over her body, with an
especially severe second- or third-degree burn on a portion of the
plaintiff's left thigh."
The injuries allegedly caused the dancer and choreographer "great
mental, physical and nervous strain, pain and suffering," including
a loss of earnings potential, since she was required to seek
medical attention.
Abdul is seeking unspecified amounts totalling more than $25,000
