Paris Jackson to make movie debut in all-star Untitled Nash Edgerton Project - report
Paris Jackson is reportedly set to make her movie debut in Amazon Studios’ Untitled Nash Edgerton Project.
The daughter of Michael Jackson is said to have nabbed a role in director Edgerton’s forthcoming film, about meek businessman Harold (David Oyelowo) whose life changes for the worse when he becomes unwillingly entangled with Mexican drug lords, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and mercenaries.
According to Deadline, Paris will play “edgy 20-year-old” Nelly in the dark comic thriller, which will also feature the likes of Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Thandie Newton and Nash’s brother Joel Edgerton.
Nash will also be producing the feature alongside Charlize’s company Denver & Delilah Films, Rebecca Yeldham, Anthony Tambakis, Beth Kono and A.J. Dix, with the script penned by screenwriters Anthony Tambakis and Matthew Stone.
Paris' acting debut came earlier this year (17) in Lee Daniels’ TV show Star as Rachel Wallace, a witty and intimidating social media guru who participates in a photoshoot of the girl band the series is based on.
“When I heard about Star, I watched the first couple of episodes and fell in love,” she explained in a behind the scenes interview. “I met Lee and he was kind of interested in getting me on the show.
“This role is really opposite to me and, for it being my first real on-camera acting, I think it’s a good way for me to show my acting capabilities.”
The blonde star also officially added modeling to her books recently, having signed with agency IMG Models, who also represent fashion stars including Hailey Baldwin, Amber Valletta and Ashley Graham.
